The Driver Cannot Be Installed Correctly (The Driver Is Listed as "Unspecified")
If the driver is not installed correctly, the installed driver will be listed as "Unspecified" on the computer. In such cases, perform the following procedure to reinstall the driver.
Windows 11
1. Log on to Windows as the computer's administrator.
2. Connect the machine to the computer.
3. Turn on the machine.
4. On the [Start] menu, click [All apps], [Windows Tools], and then click [Control Panel].
5. Click [View devices and printers].
6. Check that the model you are using is displayed under "Unspecified."
7. Right-click the icon of the model you are using, and then click [Remove device].
8. Check that the icon for the model you are using is no longer displayed under "Unspecified."
9. Carry out the procedure given under "Uninstalling the Driver," and then reinstall the driver.
When reinstalling the driver, strictly adhere to the procedure here in order to correctly install the driver.
Windows 10
1. Log on to Windows as the computer's administrator.
2. Connect the machine to the computer.
3. Turn on the machine.
4. On the [Start] menu, click [Settings].
5. Click [Devices].
6. Click [Devices and printers] under [Related settings] on the right side of the window.
7. Check that the model you are using is displayed under "Unspecified."
8. Right-click the icon of the model you are using, and then click [Remove device].
9. When the message "Are you sure you want to remove this device?" is displayed, click [Yes].
10. Check that the icon for the model you are using is no longer displayed under "Unspecified."
11. Carry out the procedure given under "Uninstalling the Driver," and then reinstall the driver.
When reinstalling the driver, strictly adhere to the procedure here in order to correctly install the driver.
